Meditation

Meditation is a self disciplinarian art and has been used for over millennia. Various forms of meditating can be used to achieve a different variety of effects from mind relaxation to personal release of stress. The overall purpose of meditation is to quieten our minds and become totally peaceful. It is not a cause of reflection or contemplation but more the art of physical and mental relaxation, where the person finds a comfortable position in which to sit or lie down with their eyes closed and breathing gently, allowing thoughts to come in and out of the mind.

We need to start taking the time out to rest and still our minds, even if it’s for 10 minutes a day. It is not selfish nor should people think for one minute it’s selfish. We cannot run all the time on an empty tank and meditation allows us the time to fill this tank back up.

Importance of Meditation

Why do we need to meditate? We are surrounded constantly by noise and interference via televisions, cars, radios, people and other influences. We are living in an age where everything is on the go 24/7 and there is no time for rest. The average family has no time to rest, constant demands and most parents work, kids are at school. After work and school there are other commitments to undergo. When does the average individual actually get time to rest? Almost never, life is a constant stream and it’s taking more and more out of people.

Each individual will find certain methods of meditating more suitable for them but I have found that sitting comfortably and doing the above has helped greatly. Also this is not an exercise to do just once a week but more daily to reap the rewards.

When you meditate envision yourself surrounded by or cocooned in a bubble of pure white light. This provides you with protection so that no negative energy can disturb you whilst you meditate.
